HELPFUL TIPS

You will note that Follicel comes with full usage instructions. However, should infestation be severe it may take several treatments to clear it up. As Follicel is not chemically active and a totally natural treatment, with a severe infestation some head lice can survive initial attempts to eliminate them.

Although you have already been advised not to use a combined shampoo/conditioner, you need to be aware that some shampoos that claim to be tangle free do contain constituents that have been know to interfere with the working of Follicel.

To achieve the best results with this product use Johnson's Baby Shampoo (Original) as mentioned previously and if conditioner has built up on your hair you will need to remove it with a shampoo available for this purpose, e.g. Neutrogena, or similar.

How do you use Follicel?
Follicel is a simple 20 minute solution treatment that is actually good for your hair. It conditions and treats the hair while promoting easier and more thorough combing to remove the lice and lice eggs.

- Shampoo the hair as usual using a non-conditioning neutral-type shampoo.
- Rinse hair thoroughly, do not dry.
- Apply Follicel directly to the scalp and massage in until hair is saturated.
- Wrap hair in a towel for 20 minutes of contact time.
- Lightly rinse hair and comb out lice and nits. (Use stainless steel nit comb)

Do's and Don'ts
- Do use a neutral non conditioning shampoo.
If you have used a hair conditioner in the last 7-10 days you may need to use a deep cleansing shampoo to remove the conditioner build up.
- Do rinse out the shampoo thoroughly with warm water.
- Do apply Follicel to the scalp in several places (12+) by parting the hair and pouring Follicel directly onto the scalp and massaging Follicel from the scalp out through all the hair.
- Don't leave any place for those little critters to hide.
- Do wrap the hair in a towel or plastic shower cap for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Do lightly rinse out most of the Follicel, but not all. (Residual effect)
- Do use a nit comb to comb out the lice and nits. (Use comb with stainless steel teeth and not plastic)
- Do a follow up check or treatment in seven days.
- Do expect that sometimes a second treatment is needed with heavy infestations or in very long hair.
